I am told: more and more peo­ple are wor­ried that walk­ing around all day with a cell phone apposed to their heads, ignor­ing the world around them and in gen­eral mak­ing them­selves a haz­ard to foot traf­fic, vehic­u­lar traf­fic, silence and patience, will in some causative sense threaten their brains, their lives, their well-​​being.

Maybe they’re mix­ing up cause and effect.
