I agree with pretty much everything you’ve mentioned and the question still remains of what to do. I’m conflicted myself and may or may not be doomed to bounce between the academy and industry. Don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. But the feeling that there must be a middle ground somewhere just won’t go away.

So keep thinking and working at it. I’ll keep reading and something might just come out of it all.
