Pontification without all the gritty gravitas
Is the “blended edition” problem the problem of things showing up on bowdlerized, badly edited, poorly sourced versions?
Certainly, that’s how it ever was, right – so the fact that there is a crummy 2008 edition of a book is no better and no worse than having a crummy 1908 version of an 1843 book, just a different historical difference. The newly badly edited work is just a modern counterpart.
Now what did I say about the myth of authority?
